Description of Classes:
Classes focus on classical piano music. Much individual attention is given when choosing repertoire, and students’ taste in music and personal goals are of utmost importance. Students study level-appropriate technique and pieces to challenge and better their piano performance ability. At times, pieces for 4-hands or 2 pianos can be played either with the teacher or another student of similar ability to develop ensemble skills. Classes offered in English or Spanish.

Enrique Prado started his piano career at the young age of 11. Learning under the instruction of Marta Garcia Renart he quickly earned his prodigy status. In 1994 he won first place at the national piano competition, Concurso Esperanza Cabrera. Following this success, he received a scholarship to study in the United States and then completed his studies in a renowned conservatory in Cuba where he received his dual degree in performance and pedagogy. Enrique has taught piano since 1995. In addition to teaching, he is a well sought-after performer for chamber music and solo performances. His skill as a gifted sight-reader and quick study is envied by many.

Who is Eligible?
Beginner, intermediate, and advanced students. Beginners will learn foundations of music, hand position, music reading, and pieces to challenge the student as he/she progresses. More advanced students balance practice between technical scales and exercises and the development of musicianship through studying piano works. Requirements: Access to a piano for home study and an interest in learning to play the piano.

Where?
Classes are given at Calzada de la Aurora #48. The piano studio has two side-by-side Yamaha pianos to optimize teacher-student interactions.
